Enough students
to fill approximately 100 elementary schools will tour Centennial
Farm and take part in the Agademics program during the 2003-
2004 season.
Evy Edelo, the Agademics program coordinator, said that
about 6,500 fourth, fifth, and sixth graders are expected
for the educational project that teaches youths about the
origins of food and how agriculture is part of their everyday
lives.
The biggest number of visitors—an estimated 55,000
first graders and kindergarteners—will take the popular
Centennial Farm tour which gives youngsters a chance to
see growing crops and resident livestock. The tours began
Sept. 23.
