President's Message

With 2006 all wrapped up, OCFEC now looks forward to the challenges of the new year. As usual, we have some wonderful events planned for 2007 including the 28th annual Youth Expo, the 2007 OC Fair, and the return of Cirque du Soleil.

Cirque du Soleil will bring "Corteo" to OCFEC in November. "Corteo" has been welcoming capacity crowds with rave reviews since premiering in North America in 2005. "Corteo" is one of the most vibrant and innovative of the Cirque du Soleil productions.

Everyone knows that the 2006 OC Fair was hot, but in 2007 we will be sizzling. From July 13 to August 5, Costa Mesa will be the place to be in Southern California. Staff is busy working on the details but expect to see some wonderful re-imaginings of the Fair as well as the return of plenty of traditional favorites. New this year, Kids Park, Park Plaza and the Main Mall will be rearranged and revitalized, presenting opportunities for new programming and attractions.

We have already started working on the 2007 Pacific Amphitheatre Summer Concert Series. In 2006 we welcomed Paul Simon, Gnarls Barkley, All-American Rejects, and Steve Miller Band. To get advance notice and special offers, visit ocfair.com and sign-up for the Pacific Amphitheatre Backstage Pass.

And, finally, Youth Expo 2007, April 27-29, will be "Moovin n' Groovin" as 4H, FFA, Girl Scouts, students and kids of all ages come together to celebrate their academic and community accomplishments.

The new year is full of promise and we hope you enjoy all that OCFEC has to offer. For more information and updates, visit ocfair.com. Deborah Carona President, Board of Directors Orange County Fair & Exposition Center
