CBB Arena Is Callin' You Out
For Free Entertainment

During the 21 days of the OC Fair, the Citizens Business Bank Arena will offer free daily entertainment including Speedway, Bullriding, Latino concerts, as well as a smorgasbord of popular music and comedy.

Launching the Arena’s 21 days of action will be the 30th Annual Speedway Fair Derby and Freestyle Motocross Jumping on July 8, the Fair’s opening day, when the top racers in the United States compete at 8 p.m.

Saturday, July 9, brings the crunch of American metal with the triumphant return of the 5th Annual “Orange Crush” Demolition Derby with shows at 2 and 8 p.m.

From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, public agencies will be conducting demonstrations and distributing information about their programs to interested fairgoers. As a highlight for this program, the first Black & White Bash ‘n’ Crash Demolition Derby, at 8 p.m., gives fairgoers a chance to observe the latest in defensive driving techniques from Southern California’s finest.

A week of tribute bands take over the Arena July 12-15, featuring Atomic Punks, a tribute to early Van Halen (July 12 at 8 p.m.,); Hotel California, a salute to the Eagles (July 13 at 8 p.m.,); Wild Child, a Jim Morrison celebration (July 14 at 8 p.m.,); and The Spazmatics, the ultimate new wave ‘80’s show (July 15 at 7 and 9 p.m.).

On Saturday, July 16, at 8 p.m. LATV will be taping an episode of their popular “Mex 2 The Max” television show featuring performances by Mexican regional music groups. The episode will air on LATV the following week.

On Sunday, July 17, at 8 p.m. Tele Estrellas, hosted by Carlos Álvarez, features appearances by Laura Zapata, Carolina Tejera, Eduardo Yáñez, Víctor Cámara, and Giovan Ramos.

Barrage, July 19-22, a blend of music, song and dance, has been described as Stomp! meets Riverdance. Performances are at 8 p.m., July 19-21, with two shows at 7 and 9 p.m. on Friday, July 22.

Julio Sabala, performing July 23-24 at 6 and 8:30 p.m., is one of Latin America’s most popular artists. Sabala is a great impressionist of popular Latin artists like Ricky Martin and Chayanne, the Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti and various pop artists, including Prince. Julio Sabala’s performances are fascinating and awe-inspiring.

Carrot Top will perform July 26-28 at 8 p.m. and on Friday, July 29, at 7 and 9 p.m. No topic will be sacred when this motor-mouth funnyman gives Citizens Business Bank Arena audiences his screwball version of life and humor in America.

Bullriding at 4 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, will open the final weekend of Fair as intrepid cowhands try to stay aboard the twisting, turning Brahmas from the Flying U Ranch for an eight-second ride. Hispanic riders will show their own expertise with bulls and broncs during the annual Fiesta del Charro at 4 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, the Fair’s closing day.

Entry to all Citizens Business Bank Arena shows is free with Fair admission. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. All acts and times are subject to change without notice.
