OCFEC will be abuzz with kid power when Kidsfaire-America's Family Expo! returns with non-stop familyand kid-friendly entertainment on Oct. 7 and 8.

Acres of OCFEC will be transformed into a child's playland with colorful costumed characters, live music, interactive stage shows, games and more for the twoday event which is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Some key highlights of this year's event include the first U.S. appearance of The Wiggles® Character Show featuring Dorothy the Dinosaur and Captain Feathersword; Strawberry Shortcake and Friends Stage Show; the Gemz in concert; Gina D's Kids Club®; PBS-TV's The Danger Rangers; Clowntown BigTop Show; and Shushybe Dream Band.

Children and their families can also find hundreds of special exhibits and activities featuring NASCAR, Speedminton®, Clifford the Big Red Dog, the NASA Mars expedition, CBS 2/KCAL 9 Weathercaster-for-a-day, fishing, gardening, bowling, clowning, bike stunts, crafts and more.

FACES OF THE FAIR

A toddler with a face full of cotton candy, a newborn piglet, a kindergartner performing on Heritage Stage, or a child screaming with delight on a roller coaster capture the experience of the annual OC Fair. Each year, fairgoers roam the grounds, training a keen eye on exhibits, entertainment, carnival rides and other fairgoers for that perfect shot that best illustrates the annual Fair.

The winners of the 2006 Many Faces of the Fair contest represent the best in Theme, Color, Black and White, and Overall categories.

Best Overall Award - Molly Yarchin of Huntington Beach.

Theme Award - Tommie Jo Ivy of La Mirada.

Best Black & White Award - Richard Cooke of Lake Forest.

Best Color Award- Teri Friend of Long Beach.
