The
year 2005 is definitely upon us. Over
the past years, the Orange County Fair
& Exposition Center has become a highly
utilized event center, attracting more
than 4.3 million people to over 1,100
event days held each year on the grounds.
The revenue generated by the annual Fair
and the year-round events not only sustains
the organization’s programs, but
they allow those programs to expand and
change to meet the demands of the fairground’s
patrons and community.
Upcoming,
and an exciting component of our expansion,
is the continued implementation of the
Master Plan - a ten year, phased program
designed to improve existing facilities
and grow others to accommodate the interest
in and rise of events that occur on the
property. The immediate work for 2005
is to plan renovations to the Pacific
Amphitheatre and the building of a new
exhibit hall. It is hoped that construction
will begin in 2005. On tap, among many
exciting events this year, are plans for
another star-studded concert series at
the Pacific Amphitheatre and exhilarating
new programs designed for the Orange County
Fair that cleverly salute the Year of
the Avocado - the 2005 Fair theme commodity.
In addition, the Orange County Market
Place continues to offer a diverse and
interesting shopping experience for the
whole family and new events will be added
to the roster of traditional programs,
making 2005 a year that offers something
for everyone. There is a strategy behind
the many different activities, programs
and events held at the Orange County Fair
& Exposition Center and that is to
embody community spirit and contribute
to the social and economic well being
of Orange County.
Stay close to us as we provide more information
about our upcoming Youth Expo in April,
followed by the annual Orange County Fair,
which for 2005, “calls you out to
play!” There is always something
exciting going on at the fairgrounds.
And we’ll be the first to let you
in on the excitement! Please visit our
