During
three nights of the Orange County Fair,
Heritage Stage will be cooking when well-known
chefs from television and radio tempt
the crowd with food, fun and tantalizing
recipes. This year's series features return
appearances by Mary Sue Milliken and Susan
Feniger (formerly known as the Two Hot
Tamales) and Alton Brown from “Good
Eats” on The Food Network. Making
his Fair time debut is James Botsacos,
who many have seen cook with Katie and
Matt on the “Today Show.”
The first chefs to hit the stage are
Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger (The
Border Girls) from the popular Border
Grill restaurants in Santa Monica and
Las Vegas as well as Ciudad in downtown
Los Angeles. Inspired by a love for bold
flavors and strong statements, Milliken
and Feniger have made their mark with
home cooking from all over the world.
Don’t miss them on Heritage Stage
on Thursday, July 15 at 5:30 p.m. for
an hour of Latin cooking.
Joining
the Chef Series on Thursday, July 22 is
James Botsacos, executive chef at Molyvos
Greek restaurant in New York City. Through
his own talent, skill and vision, Botsacos
elevates traditional Greek recipes to
the highest levels of taste and sophistication.
He currently is the host of ESPN’s
“Cold Pizza” and is a regular
contributor to NBC’s “Today
Show.”
And finally, back by popular demand,
is Alton Brown, writer, director and host
of “Good Eats,” one of the
top-rated shows on The Food Network. For
over five years, Brown has amused and
informed on his weekly cooking show, which
combines his passion for food and pop
culture while entertaining his audience
with wit and humor. On each episode of
“Good Eats,” he explores the
origins of ingredients, decodes culinary
customs, and presents food and equipment
trends. You can see Alton on Thursday,
July 29 at 5:30 p.m. on Heritage Stage.
Each chef will be available following
their shows to sign autographs and answer
questions. The Chef Series is co-sponsored
by KOST 103.5 FM and Dinner at Eight Productions.
