How many hours per week can a minor work?
During the annual Fair, 15-year-olds can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. 16- and 17-year-olds can work a maximum of 48 hours per week.
What is the minimum age to work at the Fair?
We are great supporters of our youth and have some departments that hire 15-year-olds however there are jobs that require a certain age limit due to job duties. Please see the individual job descriptions for age requirement.
What is the minimum wage?
The minimum wage is $8 per hour.
Will I need a work permit during the summer (Fair)?
Yes, any minor under the age of 18 will need a work permit. The only exception is if you have graduated from high school before 18 years of age.
I worked at the Fair last year, do I need to apply again?
Most rehires from the previous Fair will be invited back to join our team for the same department. If you are not contacted or if you would like to work in a different department you will need to reapply.
I submitted an application online and nobody called me back. What should I do?
Due to the large volume of applications received daily, ONLY the most qualified candidates will be contacted and invited to the interview process.
I am a former employee of the Fair and have a PST retirement account. How do I get my money refunded?
In order to get your money refunded you must wait 90-120 days after your termination date. You can then download the form at www.sppforu.com. Under "Quick Links" click on "PST Program" and then click on "Form and Publications".

I don’t have any references to list on my application. Can I list my friends and relatives?
We strongly encourage you to put down former/current supervisors, youth leaders, pastors, counselors, teachers or mentors. Please DO NOT use your friends and/or relatives as references.
Do temporary Fair positions extend beyond the Fair dates?
Depending on the department’s needs, it is possible for positions to extend beyond the Fair. For most position the last day of employment is the last day of the Fair.
