Hereford (hûr fard)
Typically a Hereford has a red or black coat with white coloring on its head, front of neck, brisket, and undersides.
Most recognizable by its mostly white face and head.
Native home is Herefordshire, England, where Benjamin Tomkins is credited with being the breed's founder in the 1700s.
William H. Sotham and Erastus Corning began the first successful breeding herd of Herefords in the United States in 1840.
Raised throughout the country (some 36 states) but most of them call Texas home.
The most well recognized movie extra for western flicks.
